
Chennai, February 26 Zimbabwe managed to score 30 runs without any loss after five overs in their record-breaking chase of 257 in their T20 World Cup Super Eights match, here on Thursday.
Arshdeep Singh started with a tight first over without any boundaries, while Hardik Pandya, who returned with the new ball, also bowled well, conceding only 12 runs in his two overs.
Brian Bennett (21 not out; 17 balls) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (11 not out; 14 balls) maintained a strong opening partnership, even as the required run-rate approached the 15-run mark.
Earlier, Abhishek Sharma returned to form with a 55-run (30 balls; 4 fours, 4 sixes), while Hardik Pandya smashed an unbeaten 50-run (23 balls; 2 fours, 4 sixes) as India scored 256/4 after Zimbabwe chose to bowl.
This was India's highest score in the T20 World Cups, and also the highest in this ICC tournament.
