The 11-member Zubeen Kshetra Construction Committee conducted an inspection of the site.
In Assam, the work on developing the resting place for Zubeen Garg in Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati, has finally begun.
Members of the 11-member Zubeen Kshetra Construction Committee, formed by the state government, visited the site today to review the progress. The committee's visit followed the State Cabinet's recent decision to formally hand over the project responsibility to the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The government has already allocated 10 bighas of land for the construction of Zubeen Kshetra, and work has begun on building boundary walls around the site.
During the inspection, committee members including Garima Saikia Garg, Anuradha Sharma Pujari, Parthasarathi Mahanta, Pranjal Saikia, Sudarshan Thakur, Biren Singh, and Pulak Banerjee, along with officials from the administration, assessed the ongoing construction work.
Garima Saikia Garg also reviewed the project estimates with officials from the Public Works Department. She urged authorities to make immediate arrangements to ensure that areas intended for offering tributes and lighting lamps are protected from exposure to sunlight and rain.
