Woman Found Bludgeoned to Death in Her Field; Police Solve Case Within Days
Jalna, Maharashtra – April 2: In a shocking incident, Jalna Police have detained a 13-year-old boy in connection with the brutal murder of a 41-year-old woman, Meera alias Sandhya Bondare, whose body was discovered in her farmland at Antarwali Tembhi village on March 25.According to officials, Bondare was stoned to death while she slept in her fields during the afternoon. The investigation revealed that the boy, a local resident, had been involved in a longstanding conflict with the woman over a water channel that irrigated her farmland.
Water Dispute Turns Deadly
Sources from the investigation stated that Bondare had earlier reprimanded the boy for obstructing the flow of water to her field. During one of their confrontations, she allegedly threw his mobile phone into the water in anger. The altercation reportedly left the boy furious and resentful.In what police described as a revenge-driven act, the boy allegedly used a large stone to bludgeon the woman to death while she was resting in her field. During questioning, he confessed to the crime.
Juvenile to be Produced Before Justice Board
Authorities confirmed that the juvenile has been detained and will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. The case has raised serious concerns over rising tensions in rural areas and the disturbing involvement of minors in violent crimes.The Jalna Police have lauded the swift investigation that led to the resolution of the case within a week of the murder.
