Ramgarh, Jharkhand – May 10: A 20-year-old man from Ramgarh district was arrested on Saturday for allegedly sharing pro-Pakistan content on social media, triggering public outrage and police intervention.
The accused, Sahil Ali, was taken into custody from the Jawahar Nagar area after his social media post went viral and sparked protests among local residents. Authorities responded swiftly to maintain law and order.
According to Bhurkunda outpost in-charge Nirbhay Kumar Gupta, Ali was booked under Section 127 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for posting objectionable material online.
Following the arrest, tensions escalated in the area, leading to demonstrations by locals demanding strict action against the youth.
Sub-Divisional Officer Anurag Kumar Tiwari confirmed that Sahil Ali was later released on a bond after providing a written assurance that he would refrain from engaging in similar activities in the future. He has been directed to appear before a local court on May 13.
Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading provocative content online and assured that any such actions will be dealt with under the provisions of the law.
