Fatal Argument Over Iftari Turns Violent in Oshiwara
Mumbai, March 31 – A 20-year-old man lost his life after a dispute over the distribution of fruits for iftari escalated into violence in the Jogeshwari West area of Mumbai on Sunday evening.The victim, identified as Mohammed Kaif Rahim Shaikh, was allegedly attacked by Zafar Firoze Khan, 22, and his accomplices following a heated argument, according to the Oshiwara police.
Altercation at Workplace Leads to Tragedy
Both Shaikh and Khan were employed at a shop that specializes in making children’s dresses. The confrontation reportedly began during the iftari preparations when an argument broke out between the two. During the altercation, Shaikh is said to have slapped Khan.In retaliation, Khan allegedly returned later with a group of friends and stabbed Shaikh. The young man succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
Arrest Made, Investigation Underway
Authorities confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend others involved.The tragic incident has sparked concern in the local community, especially as it unfolded during the holy month of Ramadan, a time traditionally associated with peace and reflection.
