2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup Draw: USA to Face Haiti, Saudi Arabia, and Trinidad and Tobago in Group D

New York, April 11 — The United States men's national team is set to compete against Haiti, Saudi Arabia, and Trinidad and Tobago in Group D of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, according to the official draw held Thursday night in Miami.

Group Stage Matchups Announced

The draw revealed the group stage compositions for the biennial championship covering North and Central America and the Caribbean:

  • Group A: Defending champions Mexico will battle Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and Suriname.
  • Group B: Canada is placed with Curaçao, El Salvador, and Honduras.
  • Group C: Panama will go up against Guadeloupe, Guatemala, and Jamaica.
  • Group D: The U.S. will compete with Haiti, Saudi Arabia (a guest nation), and Trinidad and Tobago.

Tournament Schedule and Venues

While detailed match dates and venues are yet to be revealed, CONCACAF has confirmed two key events:

  • Opening Match: June 14 in Inglewood, California
  • Final: July 6 in Houston, Texas

The full tournament schedule is expected to be released on Friday. Matches will take place across 14 stadiums in 11 cities, strategically avoiding venues on the Eastern Seaboard. This year's tournament will coincide with the FIFA Club World Cup, which holds player release priority under FIFA regulations.

Last Major Test for U.S. Ahead of 2026 World Cup

The Gold Cup will serve as the final competitive outing for U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino and his squad before they begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign on June 12, 2026. Notably, the U.S. is expected to field a mix of emerging talents and rotational players, similar to their approach in 2023 when they lost to Panama in the semifinals via penalty shootout.

Saudi Arabia’s Guest Appearance

Saudi Arabia, a non-CONCACAF nation, is an invited team for both the 2025 and 2027 Gold Cups, highlighting CONCACAF’s continued strategy of expanding the tournament's international appeal.

Stay tuned for Friday’s full fixture release and further updates on the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
