22 Injured as Passenger Bus Crashes Into Tree in Jharkhand's Chatra District

CHATRA (JHARKHAND), May 10 – At least 22 people sustained injuries after a passenger bus collided with a roadside tree near Gandharia village in Jharkhand's Chatra district on Saturday morning, police officials confirmed.

The accident took place around 10 a.m. while the bus was en route from Chatra to Telaiya in Koderma district. The vehicle reportedly veered off its path and crashed into a tree along the roadside, prompting immediate response from local authorities.

Bipin Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, stated that although the impact was severe, there were no fatalities reported.

"All the 22 injured individuals were immediately shifted to the Sadar Hospital in Chatra. Thankfully, their condition is stable," he said.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the possibility of driver negligence or mechanical failure.
