Palghar, March 1: A 25-year-old woman was found dead by suicide at her residence in Maharashtra's Palghar district, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The incident took place on February 26 in the Nalla Sopara area. According to the police, the woman, identified as Rashmi Satyam Gupta, allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling of her home.
Authorities have registered a case of accidental death while an investigation is underway to determine the reasons behind her extreme step.
As per the statement given by the deceased's mother, Rashmi had a history of becoming upset over minor issues and had previously harmed herself.
Police are conducting further inquiries to understand the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
