Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, May 17 — A 26-year-old man lost his life in a tragic road accident on Friday night after his scooter collided with a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus in the Lamblu market area of Hamirpur district, police confirmed.
The deceased, identified as Kapil, son of Naresh Kumar and a resident of Sera village in Nadaun, was riding along the Hamirpur-Jahu road around 10:45 pm when the collision occurred.
According to the complaint lodged by the bus driver, Suresh Kumar, the accident happened while he was driving through Lamblu market. He stated that Kapil, who was reportedly riding at high speed, crashed into the bus and sustained critical injuries.
Kapil was rushed to the Medical College in Hamirpur but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur confirmed the fatality and said that a detailed investigation into the accident is currently underway.
