Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, May 15 – In a breakthrough in a week-long kidnapping case, Uttar Pradesh police rescued a four-year-old boy from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. They arrested four individuals allegedly involved in a human trafficking racket.
Child Abducted from Outside Home
Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha confirmed that the child, identified as Kavish, had gone missing on May 9 while playing outside his house in Hathras. Following the abduction, multiple police teams were deployed, and CCTV footage was meticulously analyzed to trace the suspects’ movements across states.Accused Belongs to an Interstate Human Trafficking Gang
The arrested individuals include Monu Pathak and his wife, Neha Pathak, both residents of Hathras, and Maddi Patla Raghavendra and his wife, Subba Lakshmi, from Andhra Pradesh. Authorities recovered three mobile phones, two ATM cards, and an Aadhaar card from them.SP Sinha stated, “This is not merely a kidnapping case but also a case of human trafficking.” He further revealed that the suspects belong to a larger network involved in the abduction and sale of children.
Gang Linked to Multiple Trafficking Cases Across States
Preliminary investigations suggest the gang comprises over a dozen members and may have trafficked at least eight children from different states. The police suspect the gang lured families with the promise of adoption or sale, leading to organised trafficking of minors.Ongoing Investigation
