Jaipur, Feb 3 (PTI) – A devastating road accident in Rajasthan’s Balotra claimed the lives of five family members and left eight others injured when a car and a jeep collided head-on. The incident occurred on Monday near Payla village on the Mega Highway as the family was returning home after a doctor’s visit and shopping for household items, police reported.
Balotra Superintendent of Police (SP) Hari Shankar confirmed that the collision resulted in the deaths of Shivlal Soni (60), his son Shrawan Soni (28), Mandeep Soni (4), Rinku Soni (6 months), and Beauty Soni (25).
The Sindhari police have seized both vehicles involved in the accident and initiated an investigation into its cause. Meanwhile, the injured victims are receiving medical treatment at different hospitals, with some critically injured individuals referred to Jodhpur for advanced care.
