Accused Arrested After Fatal Assault in Uttar Pradesh’s Patti Madan
Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh – A 75-year-old man was brutally beaten to death by his grandson over a property dispute in Patti Madan town of Baghpat district, police confirmed on Monday.The accused, 29-year-old Sachin Pawar, allegedly attacked his grandfather, Satyaveer Singh, with a stick during a heated argument late Saturday night over the division of family land. The altercation turned violent, resulting in serious injuries to Singh.
He was initially taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Tikri and later referred to a medical facility in Meerut due to the severity of his condition. However, Singh succumbed to his injuries en route to Meerut, authorities said.
A case was filed based on a complaint by the victim's son, Lokendra. “The accused was arrested on Sunday night,” said Baraut Circle Officer Vijay Kumar.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
The incident has stirred shock in the local community, highlighting the growing concern over family disputes escalating into violence.
