Kolkata, Feb 27: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday strongly refuted reports suggesting any differences with party supremo Mamata Banerjee, reaffirming his allegiance to her leadership.
"I am a loyal soldier of the TMC, and my leader is Mamata Banerjee," Banerjee asserted while addressing a party conference in Kolkata.
Dismissing speculations of a possible switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he said, "Those who claim I am joining the BJP are spreading baseless rumors." He further alleged that individuals with vested interests were behind these claims, aiming to manipulate narratives ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
The Diamond Harbour MP also reiterated his commitment to exposing internal dissidents within the party, as he had done during the previous assembly elections.
His statement comes at a crucial time, as political speculation intensifies in West Bengal in the run-up to the 2026 state elections.
