Mumbai, May 15 – Adani Airport Holdings announced on Thursday the termination of its ground handling concession agreements with Turkish aviation firm Celebi at both Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA), following the revocation of Celebi’s security clearance by the Government of India.
The company stated that Celebi has been directed to immediately hand over all ground handling facilities to ensure seamless and uninterrupted airport operations.
Government Decision Triggers Contract Termination
The termination comes in the wake of the Union government's decision to withdraw Celebi’s security clearance, a prerequisite for operating in sensitive airport zones. Adani Airport Holdings, which operates seven airports across India including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram, emphasized that national interest and operational integrity remain top priorities.Seamless Transition and Employee Safeguards
In a statement, an Adani Airport Holdings spokesperson said,To avoid any disruption in services, Adani Airport Holdings confirmed that new ground handling agencies have already been appointed. Furthermore, the company assured continuity for the workforce, stating that all existing Celebi employees at the affected airports will be transferred to the new agencies under their current terms and conditions."Following the government of India’s decision to revoke Celebi’s security clearance, we have terminated the ground handling concession agreements with Celebi at CSMIA and SVPIA. Accordingly, Celebi has been directed to immediately hand over to us all ground handling facilities to ensure uninterrupted operations."
