Aditi Ashok Misses Cut at Mizuho Americas Open, Nelly Korda Shares Lead

Jersey City, May 10 – Indian golfer Aditi Ashok fell short of making the cut at the Mizuho Americas Open after finishing with a total score of five-over 149 across two rounds. Despite a more composed performance on day two with an even-par round, her first-round 77 proved too costly to recover from.

Starting her second round on the back nine, Aditi began with a promising birdie. However, a bogey on the 13th hole momentarily halted her progress. She bounced back with birdies on the 18th and 8th holes to finish the day at level par. Unfortunately, with the cut set at one-under par, Aditi missed out on weekend action.

Nelly Korda Tied at the Top

World No. 1 Nelly Korda delivered another stellar four-under 68, replicating her first-round score to tie for the lead at eight-under par. Sharing the top spot with Korda are South Korea’s Somi Lee (69-67) and Andrea Lee (68-68).

Korda, who began her round on the back nine, secured birdies on the 11th and 14th holes but gave away strokes with bogeys on the 17th and 18th. Her front nine was flawless, with a birdie on the opening hole, back-to-back birdies on the 5th and 6th, and a final birdie on the 9th to complete a strong finish.

Somi Lee impressed with a five-under 67 on day two, registering seven birdies and only two bogeys, bolstering her chances as the tournament heads into the weekend.
