New Delhi, February 20 – The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has announced a significant partnership with South Eastern Coalfield Ltd (SECL) to provide skill training to 400 individuals from economically weaker sections. The collaboration aims to enhance employability in the apparel industry through structured training programs.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), AEPC’s Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) will establish training facilities in Bishrampur, Sohagpur, and Korba district in Chhattisgarh. Additionally, a residential training program will be conducted at ATDC Chhindwara Campus in Madhya Pradesh.
The initiative will see 300 candidates trained under the Self-Employed Tailor (SET) course, while 100 candidates will receive training in Apparel Manufacturing Technology. This effort aligns with AEPC's commitment to equipping underprivileged individuals with industry-relevant skills and fostering self-employment opportunities and job placements in the textile and apparel sector.
This collaboration marks another step in AEPC’s mission to support skill development and employment generation in India’s growing garment industry.
