Bengaluru, Feb 3 (PTI): With Aero India 2025 set to take place from February 10 to 14 at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh has directed officials to implement comprehensive disaster management and preparedness measures.

Chairing a preliminary meeting for the event on Monday, Jagadeesh emphasized the importance of meticulous planning for emergency situations. Key directives included arranging ambulances, food facilities, German tents, helipads, and ensuring proper sanitation, water supply, and crowd control, according to an official release.

A significant directive was the temporary closure of meat shops in areas surrounding the airshow venue to prevent bird activity, which could pose a risk to aircraft. Jagadeesh also instructed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and local governing bodies to take swift action against solid waste dumping in the vicinity. He stressed that maintaining cleanliness around the airshow area is crucial in preventing bird-related mishaps.

Additionally, in line with disaster management protocols, the deputy commissioner mandated that all officers participate in a mock drill simulating emergency airlifts and disaster response scenarios to ensure preparedness.

With Aero India drawing global attention, these measures aim to enhance safety and efficiency at one of Asia’s premier aerospace and defense exhibitions.
