Afghan Defence Ministry Rejects Pakistan's Claim of Indian Missile Strike

Taliban-led Afghan govt refutes Pakistan's claim that Indian missile hit Afghanistan.webp

Islamabad, May 10 – The Taliban-led government in Afghanistan has firmly denied Pakistan’s assertion that an Indian missile struck Afghan territory, dismissing the claim as entirely unfounded.

According to Hurriyat Radio, Afghan Defence Ministry spokesperson Enaitullah Khawarzmi labelled Pakistan’s statement as “false.” Echoing this stance, the Khaama Press quoted the Defence Ministry asserting, “Afghanistan is safe and secure. No such incident has taken place.”

The strong rebuttal from Kabul came after Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry alleged on Saturday that a missile launched by India had landed within Afghanistan. However, this claim has been denied not only by the Afghan authorities but also by the Indian government.

India responded by rejecting the allegation, calling it a “completely ludicrous claim” and reaffirming that no such incident had occurred involving any of its missile systems.

The contradictory claims have emerged amid heightened regional tensions, but both Afghanistan and India appear aligned in refuting the accusation made by the Pakistani military.
