Jammu, February 27 – Security forces have intensified search operations in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri and Kathua districts following an attack on an Army vehicle and the interception of a suspicious wireless frequency.

On Wednesday, suspected terrorists opened fire on an Army vehicle near Phal village in the Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LoC). In response, a large-scale cordon and search operation was launched by the Army and police. The operation, which began immediately after the attack, has now been extended to new areas in an effort to neutralize the perpetrators.

Officials confirmed that security forces are deploying advanced surveillance technology, including drones and sniffer dogs, to track down the hiding terrorists in the dense forests. However, no direct contact has been established with the assailants so far.

The Army’s White Knight Corps, in a post on X, clarified that the firing incident was ineffective, and troops responded swiftly. The statement also dismissed false reports on social media about casualties among security personnel, labeling them as "deliberate disinformation."

Meanwhile, in Dayalachak, Hiranagar sector (Kathua district), another anti-terror operation is underway after security forces intercepted a suspicious wireless frequency. A search operation was launched in Gurah Baldara and adjoining villages, with multiple security checkpoints set up on key routes.

A high-level meeting was convened at Hiranagar police station, attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Shobhit Saksena, along with senior Army and Border Security Force (BSF) officials, to strategize further actions.

Security forces remain on high alert as operations continue in both sectors to eliminate any potential threats.
