
In Jammu and Kashmir, the three-day Agriculture Summit and Kisan Mela 2026 will begin today at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu's Chatha campus. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, organized under the theme "AI-Enabled Advanced Agriculture," the three-day event will bring together farmers, researchers, startups, and agricultural professionals from J&K. Vice-Chancellor Professor B. N. Tripathi stated that the summit will focus on AI-based technologies, precision farming, climate-smart practices, and digital innovations. The program includes expert sessions, live demonstrations, farmer-scientist interactions, entrepreneurship workshops, and the recognition of progressive farmers. The event will continue until February 13. Meanwhile, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Poonch has dispatched a group of 50 farmers for an exposure visit to SKUAST, Jammu, to provide farmers with exposure to advanced farming techniques.
