Bengaluru, February 28 – Akasa Air has announced the launch of daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, further strengthening travel ties between India and the UAE. The expansion is part of the airline’s codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, enhancing connectivity for passengers.
The inaugural flight from Bengaluru will take off from Kempegowda International Airport at 10:00 AM IST on March 1, landing at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 12:35 PM AST. Similarly, the first Ahmedabad-Abu Dhabi flight will depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 10:45 PM IST on March 1, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 1:00 AM AST on March 2.
This new service complements Akasa Air’s existing daily Mumbai-Abu Dhabi flights, which commenced in July 2024. With these additions, the airline now operates 21 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and three major Indian cities.
Strengthening India-UAE Travel Corridors
Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President (International) at Akasa Air, highlighted the airline’s commitment to expanding its international presence.She also emphasized that this expansion marks Akasa’s first international operations from Bengaluru, broadening global connectivity from Ahmedabad as well.
With increasing demand for air travel between India and the UAE, Akasa Air’s latest move is expected to boost passenger convenience while fostering economic and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
