New Delhi, May 18 — Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has officially wrapped filming for his upcoming horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. This project marks the duo’s first collaboration in 15 years, following their 2010 political satire Khatta Meetha.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, alongside Akshay’s own banner Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla also stars Wamiqa Gabbi in a pivotal role. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026.

Sharing the wrap-up update on X (formerly Twitter), Akshay posted a behind-the-scenes video featuring him and Wamiqa Gabbi shooting a sequence under a waterfall. He wrote,

“And that’s a wrap on #BhoothBangla! My seventh madcap adventure with the ever-inventive @priyadarshandir sir, my second outing with the unstoppable @EktaaRKapoor, and my first but hopefully not the last, magical journey with the ever-surprising Wamiqa. Grateful for the madness, the magic, and the memories.”
The actor began filming in December and is reuniting with several long-time collaborators. The ensemble cast includes veterans like Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, and Jisshu Sengupta.

Akshay and Priyadarshan have delivered several comedy hits together in the past, including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Bhagam Bhag. Bhooth Bangla promises another dose of laughter and supernatural twists, continuing the duo’s legacy of entertaining cinema.
