Quick Action Prevents Possible Tragedy Near Dalelnagar-Umartali Track Section
Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh), May 20 – A major railway tragedy was averted in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district after vigilant loco pilots thwarted two separate derailment attempts on Monday evening, according to police reports.Unidentified miscreants attempted to sabotage the railway track between Dalelnagar and Umartali stations by tying wooden blocks with earthing wire at kilometre marker 1129/14. The obstruction was first encountered by the loco pilot of the Rajdhani Express (20504), which was en route to Lucknow.
Exhibiting exceptional alertness, the pilot applied emergency brakes upon spotting the obstruction, dismounted to remove the wooden blocks, and promptly alerted railway authorities, preventing any untoward incident.
Second Attempt on Kathgodam Express Also Averted
A second derailment attempt was made shortly thereafter, targeting the Kathgodam Express (15044), which was trailing the Rajdhani Express. Thanks to the situational awareness of the second train's pilot, this attempt too was foiled before any damage could occur.Investigation Underway
Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun rushed to the spot on Monday evening and took stock of the situation. He confirmed that coordinated investigations have been launched by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the local police.The authorities are treating the incidents with utmost seriousness and have assured that efforts are being intensified to identify and apprehend the culprits behind the attempted sabotage.
Railway officials have commended the timely action and vigilance of the train pilots, which averted what could have been a disastrous outcome for hundreds of passengers.
