Allahabad High Court Adjourns Hearing on Jama Masjid Whitewashing Case to March 10

Prayagraj, March 4: The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing related to the whitewashing issue of the historic Jama Masjid in Sambhal till March 10.

Earlier, on February 28, the court had directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) only to carry out cleaning work within the premises of Jama Masjid, explicitly refraining from issuing any orders for whitewashing the structure.

During Tuesday's proceedings, the counsel representing the Masjid Committee informed the court that objections to the ASI's report had already been submitted. Responding to this, the counsel for ASI sought additional time from the court to file their reply.

The Masjid Committee's counsel further highlighted that, in accordance with previous court directions, cleaning activities are currently underway under the supervision of ASI officials.

The court will resume the hearing on March 10, where further arguments and ASI's response to the objections will be reviewed.
