Alleged Drug Peddler Detained Under PIT-NDPS Act in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Feb 28: Authorities in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir have detained an alleged drug peddler under the stringent Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, police officials confirmed on Friday.

The accused, identified as Musharaf alias Rambo, a resident of Chenani, has been implicated in multiple cases related to drug trafficking. According to a police spokesperson, his activities posed a serious threat to the region’s peace and stability, as he was reportedly involved in luring local youth into drug addiction.

Due to his repeated offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a special police team executed his detention under preventive provisions of the law. Following his detention, he has been sent to jail, ensuring his restricted involvement in illegal drug trade.

Authorities continue to intensify their crackdown on drug-related offenses in Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to curb the growing menace of substance abuse in the region.
