March Quarter Sees Turnaround with Robust Growth in Revenue and Margins
New Delhi, May 16 – Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd (ABD), the country’s largest domestic spirits company by sales volume, reported a consolidated net profit of ₹78.62 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025. This marks a sharp turnaround from a loss of ₹240.62 crore in the same quarter last year, driven by the successful execution of its premiumisation strategy and operational improvements.Strong Revenue Growth and Controlled Expenses
During the fourth quarter, revenue from operations rose 10 percent year-on-year to ₹1,934.72 crore, up from ₹1,757.42 crore in Q4 FY24. Total income, including other income, stood at ₹1,948.99 crore, registering a 10.7 percent growth. Meanwhile, total expenses increased by 6 percent to ₹1,798.80 crore during the March quarter.FY25 Profit Surges to Record High
For the full financial year FY25, ABD posted its highest-ever annual profit of ₹194.84 crore, a significant jump from ₹1.82 crore in FY24. The company’s total consolidated income for the year increased 5.46 percent to ₹8,094.02 crore.ABD Managing Director Alok Gupta attributed the stellar performance to the successful execution of the company’s four-point transformation agenda focusing on:
- Premiumisation
- Supply chain security
- Margin enhancement
- Strengthened governance framework
Dividend and Expansion Plans Announced
The Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of ₹3.60 per equity share of ₹2 each for FY25. Additionally, the board approved:- Fundraising of up to ₹1,000 crore through issuance of securities in one or more tranches
- A capex proposal of ₹29 crore to upgrade its existing plant at Derabassi, Punjab, to support capacity expansion
Market Reaction
Despite the positive earnings, shares of Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd were trading lower at ₹398.05 on the BSE, down 2.58 percent from the previous close.ABD is known for popular brands such as Officer's Choice Whisky, Sterling Reserve Premium Whiskies, and ICONiQ White Whisky.
