In an effort to prevent any future complications regarding the continued application of certain laws that have been replaced by the 2020 Industrial Relations Code, a bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha yesterday. Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, introduced the Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill 2026 during Zero Hour in the House. According to the Bill's statement of objects and reasons, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, replaces the Trade Unions Act, 1926, the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946, and the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, which relate to trade unions, industrial employment, and industrial disputes.
