Mehsana, Gujarat - March 2, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated two key facilities—Vidya Bhavan and Sanskritik Bhavan—at a school trust in Pilvai village, located in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, on Sunday. The inauguration was part of a broader cultural and religious event that saw Shah actively engaged with local communities and his family.
The newly inaugurated Shri Sunderlal Mangaldas Shah Cultural Bhavan and Shri Anilchandra Gokaldas Shah Vidya Bhavan were constructed in memory of former students and are part of the efforts by the Sheth Girdharlal Chunilal High School Trust. The trust has been managing the school, which has been operational since 1927, and the new buildings will serve to strengthen the educational and cultural offerings in the region.
After the formal inauguration, Shah toured the Vidya Bhavan facilities, including classrooms and a computer lab, where he interacted with students. The trust honored Shah for his contributions, marking the significance of the event in the community's educational history. The school is preparing to celebrate its centenary festival in 2026.
Shah, accompanied by his family, also participated in a religious ceremony at the Lord Govardhannathji Temple in Pilvai. The event included the installation of an idol of Lord Govardhannathji in a newly constructed temple. Shah, alongside his son Jay Shah, who is the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC), offered prayers for public welfare during the occasion.
Venerable Vagishkumarji Maharaj, the Kankroli Naresh of the Vaishnava Sampraday, also attended the event, extending his blessings to the Vaishnavites and all followers of Sanatan Dharma, marking the occasion as a significant cultural and spiritual milestone.
Among other prominent figures present at the event were Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, Rajya Sabha MP Mayank Nayak, and Lok Sabha MP Haribhai Patel, all of whom joined in the celebration and witnessed the inauguration.
The event highlighted the Union Minister’s ongoing support for educational and cultural development in Gujarat, as well as his active participation in local religious activities.
