Ranipet, Tamil Nadu | March 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin to initiate medical and engineering education in the Tamil language, emphasizing its benefits for local students.
Addressing the gathering at the 56th Raising Day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at RTC Thakkolam in Ranipet, Shah highlighted recent reforms by the Narendra Modi government that allow CISF aspirants to appear for examinations in regional languages, including Tamil.
In a subtle reference to Chief Minister Stalin's firm stance against the Hindi language, Shah remarked, "Now the Narendra Modi government has ensured that the exam can be written in Tamil too." He subsequently urged the Tamil Nadu government to adopt similar measures in professional education, adding, "I appeal to the Tamil Nadu chief minister to start engineering and medical education in Tamil in the state for the benefit of students."
Acknowledging the significant contributions of Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah praised the state's influential role in India's cultural fabric. "Be it administrative reforms, attaining spiritual heights, education, or maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation—Tamil Nadu has reinforced Indian culture in every sphere," he said.
The event, held about 70 kilometers from Chennai, showcased an impressive march-past of CISF contingents, captivating yoga demonstrations, and precise commando operations, symbolizing the strength and preparedness of the security forces.
