Pawan Kalyan Extends Relief to All Active Military and Paramilitary Members in Gram Panchayat Areas

Vijayawada, May 12 – In a significant move to honour the nation’s uniformed personnel, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced a complete property tax exemption for homes owned by Indian Defence personnel within the gram panchayat limits.

Previously, the exemption was applicable only to retired personnel or those deployed at border posts. However, in a post on X on Sunday night, Kalyan declared that the benefit will now be extended to all active members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, and other paramilitary forces, regardless of their deployment location.

“This decision honours the courage of the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, and paramilitary forces. Their service to the nation is priceless,” stated Kalyan.

Holding the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development portfolio, Kalyan clarified that the exemption will apply to properties either jointly owned or solely owned by the personnel or their spouses, provided they reside in those homes.

The decision comes after a recommendation from the Director of Sainik Welfare and reflects the state government’s deep respect and recognition of the sacrifices made by India’s defence forces.

This move is expected to bring much-needed financial relief and recognition to serving military families, particularly in rural areas across Andhra Pradesh.
