Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Expands Benefit Beyond Retired Soldiers and Border Postings
Vijayawada, May 12 – In a significant move to honour the nation’s armed forces, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced a complete property tax exemption for homes owned by Indian Defence personnel within the gram panchayat limits across the state.The exemption, earlier limited to retired soldiers or those stationed at the country’s borders, will now extend to all active personnel regardless of their place of deployment. Kalyan made the announcement in a post on the social media platform X late Sunday night.
“This decision honours the courage of the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, and paramilitary forces. Their service to the nation is priceless,” Kalyan stated.
Spouse and Joint Ownership Also Eligible
The tax exemption will apply to properties in which the defence personnel or their spouse reside or are jointly owned.
