Andhra Pradesh to Establish Rs 100 Crore Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital in Amaravati

Amaravati, March 6: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced on Thursday in the State Assembly that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is actively pursuing the establishment of a Rs 100 crore yoga and naturopathy hospital in Amaravati. The project, initially sanctioned by the Central Government in 2018, is now being revived.

Minister Yadav disclosed that the Central government had originally allocated a 25-acre land parcel at Kondapavulu village within the Gannavaram constituency for this hospital. However, the proposal was disrupted by the former YSRCP government, which diverted the designated land for a Jagananna housing colony welfare project.

The current Telugu Desam Party-led NDA government has resumed efforts and is actively submitting new proposals to the Centre to facilitate the speedy establishment of the yoga and naturopathy hospital.

Major Industrial Investment by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel

In another major development, Industries Minister T G Bharat highlighted the significant contribution of IT Minister Nara Lokesh in bringing global steel giant ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel to Andhra Pradesh. Bharat informed the Assembly that the steel conglomerate has proposed an investment totaling Rs 1.47 lakh crore, divided into two phases.

The initial phase involves an investment of Rs 61,780 crore, followed by a second phase with an investment of Rs 85,382 crore. Upon completion, the plant, with a total production capacity of 17.9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), is expected to generate approximately one lakh employment opportunities for local residents.

The ambitious industrial and health infrastructure projects underline the Andhra Pradesh government's commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing public healthcare facilities.
