No Immediate Plans for District Reorganisation: Revenue Minister Satya Prasad

In related administrative developments, Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad clarified in the Legislative Council that neither the government nor the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration is actively considering proposals to reorganise districts within the state at the moment. However, he did acknowledge specific proposals submitted at district levels.

Prasad mentioned a recent proposal forwarded by the Bapatla district collector to restructure the revenue divisions of Bapatla, Chirala, and Repalle, creating a new revenue division headquartered at Addanki. Likewise, the Sri Sathya Sai district collector has recommended establishing a new revenue division in Madakasira. Local legislators have also proposed the creation of new revenue divisions in Yemmiganur and Udayagiri.

Minister Satya Prasad additionally criticised the previous YSRCP government, alleging that the districts were reorganised in an "unscientific manner" in 2022.
