Amaravati, Feb 27 – The Sri Damodara Sanjeeviah Thermal Power Station (SDSTPS) 800 MW Unit-3 has successfully completed 100 days of continuous operation since its commercial launch on November 18, 2024, marking a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s power generation sector.

APGENCO Managing Director KVN Chakradhar Babu hailed this achievement as a testament to the unit’s operational efficiency, reliability, and commitment to ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.

"The unit has generated 1,596.30 million units (MU) with an impressive Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 83 percent during this period. Currently, SDSTPS contributes 45 MU daily, accounting for 40 percent of Andhra Pradesh’s total thermal power generation," stated Babu in an official release.

With the summer season approaching, the steady power supply from SDSTPS will play a crucial role in meeting the state's increasing electricity demand. Babu further highlighted that APGENCO’s overall thermal power generation has remained consistent, exceeding 110 MU daily since January 2025.

This achievement underscores APGENCO’s commitment to energy security, reinforcing its role in sustaining Andhra Pradesh’s growing power needs.
