Jammu, Feb 2 (PTI) – An Indian Army captain, Rudra Pratap Singh, tragically passed away due to “medical reasons” at a military camp in Akhnoor, Jammu, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The officer, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, collapsed inside the garrison late Saturday and was immediately rushed to a hospital. Despite efforts by medical personnel, he succumbed during treatment, sources said.
Expressing condolences, Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, led the troops in mourning the officer’s untimely demise.
“GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks extend their deepest condolences on the unfortunate demise of Capt Rudra Pratap Singh due to medical reasons. We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief," the army stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Further details regarding the cause of death were not immediately available.
