Panchkula, March 3: Assam registered an impressive 2-1 victory over Bihar in a thrilling Division B clash of the 15th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on Monday.
The match began with an intense first quarter as both teams displayed strong defensive tactics, keeping the game goalless. However, Assam managed to break the deadlock just moments before half-time when their captain, Munmuni Das, converted a crucial penalty corner in the 29th minute.
Bihar fought hard to find an equalizer, but their efforts were thwarted when Khushboo Prajapati doubled Assam's lead by scoring another penalty corner in the 59th minute.
