Major Crackdown in Golaghat and Kokrajhar Districts​

Guwahati, May 17 – In a major crackdown on narcotics, Assam Police have seized nearly 1,500 kilograms of contraband drugs in two separate operations, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday.

Taking to social media platform X, Sarma revealed that Golaghat Police intercepted 512.58 grams of heroin, estimated to be worth ₹3 crore, and arrested three individuals in connection with the case.

In a separate action, Kokrajhar Police confiscated 963.19 kilograms of ganja, further highlighting the scale of the state's ongoing anti-drug drive.

State's Anti-Drug Drive Continues​

Chief Minister Sarma reiterated the government’s commitment to its war against narcotics, stating, "Our relentless pursuit against drugs will continue."

These twin operations reflect Assam Police’s intensified efforts to curb the drug menace across the state, aiming to dismantle supply networks and bring traffickers to justice.
