Assam to Witness ₹80,000 Crore Road Projects, Confirms Nitin Gadkari

Guwahati, Feb 26 – Assam is set for a significant infrastructure boost as road projects worth ₹80,000 crore will soon commence, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced on Wednesday.

Speaking virtually at the Advantage Assam 2.0 business summit, Gadkari highlighted the ambitious plans for the state’s transport infrastructure, stating that projects worth ₹3 lakh crore will be completed in Assam over the next 15 years, till 2029.

Among the key upcoming projects are:
  • Guwahati Ring Road
  • A tunnel under the Brahmaputra River
  • An elevated corridor at Kaziranga National Park
Gadkari also informed that ongoing projects worth ₹60,000 crore are currently in various stages of completion across the state.

These developments are expected to enhance connectivity, boost economic growth, and improve transportation infrastructure in Assam.
