
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has launched a large-scale search operation in the Yavatmal and Ahilyanagar districts following intelligence reports about alleged terrorist activities. Officials said the raids began around midnight, with ATS teams, along with local police, conducting searches at more than 20 locations. Over a dozen suspects have been detained for questioning.
In the Yavatmal district, operations were carried out in the towns of Pusad and Umarkhed, where searches are underway at 14 locations, including homes and offices linked to the suspects. Authorities have seized objectionable documents, mobile phones, electronic devices, and examined CCTV footage. Similar raids were conducted at seven locations in the Ahilyanagar district, where police reportedly recovered incriminating material. Officials said the action was based on specific intelligence reports regarding the alleged radicalization of young people. The detainees are currently being questioned, and no arrests have been made so far.
