Bangladeshi National Arrested Near Army Camp in Siliguri for Illegal Entry.webp

Kolkata, May 11 – A Bangladeshi national was arrested near the army camp at Bagdogra in West Bengal’s Siliguri for illegally entering India, police officials confirmed on Sunday.

The man, identified as a resident of Rangpur district in Bangladesh, was detained by security personnel on Saturday after his presence near the sensitive military zone raised suspicion. He was subsequently handed over to the Bagdogra Police for further questioning.

During the initial interrogation, the individual confessed to having crossed into India several months ago. However, he failed to present any valid identification or travel documents to justify his stay in the country.

"As he could not produce any valid documents, the person was put under arrest," a senior police officer said.

The matter is currently under further investigation to determine the circumstances of his illegal entry and his activities since arriving in India.
