Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh – A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife during a domestic altercation in an intoxicated state in Bareilly district, police confirmed on Wednesday.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Jitendra from Moraniya village in the Izzatnagar area, had a heated argument with his wife, Priya (28), on Tuesday night. In a fit of rage, he allegedly assaulted her and slammed her head against a wall, causing her immediate death.
Circle Officer Devendra Kumar stated that the police were alerted about the incident and promptly reached the scene, where they took the accused into custody. The victim's body has been sent for postmortem examination.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
