Bharti Airtel Shares Surge Nearly 3% After Five-Fold Jump in Q4 Net Profit

New Delhi, May 14—Bharti Airtel shares rallied on Wednesday following the company’s stellar financial performance for the March 2025 quarter, which saw a fivefold surge in consolidated net profit.

Stock Climbs on BSE and NSE

Bharti Airtel’s stock rose 2.69% to close at Rs 1,870 on the BSE, while on the NSE, it advanced 2.75% to Rs 1,870.70, reflecting strong investor sentiment after the results.

Q4 FY25 Profit Soars to Rs 11,022 Crore

The telecom major reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 11,022 crore for Q4 FY25, a significant increase from Rs 2,071.6 crore in the same quarter last year. A tariff hike and a substantial one-time tax benefit primarily drove the jump.

One-Time Tax Benefit Boosts Earnings

Bharti Airtel received favourable rulings in certain tax-related matters during the quarter, resulting in a one-time tax gain of approximately Rs 5,913 crore.

Revenue Growth Across the Board

Revenue from operations grew by 27% year-on-year, reaching Rs 47,876.2 crore in the March 2025 quarter, compared to Rs 37,599.1 crore in Q4 FY24.

On a standalone basis, Airtel India recorded a 15% year-on-year increase in revenue, which rose to Rs 36,735 crore from Rs 31,851.5 crore. This growth was attributed mainly to the tariff hike implemented in July last year.

Conclusion

Bharti Airtel's strong quarterly performance, bolstered by strategic pricing and favourable tax resolutions, has significantly boosted investor confidence, as reflected in the stock’s sharp upward movement. The company’s sustained revenue growth and improved profitability signal robust operational momentum heading into the new fiscal year.
