New Delhi, February 9, 2025 – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under Adani Energy Solutions Limited, for the execution of the BF800 HVDC Project.

Project Details and Scope

  • Project Partner: The contract has been awarded to a consortium of BHEL and Hitachi Energy India Limited (HEIL).
  • Nature of Work: The scope includes the design and execution of a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) linkwith associated AC substations.
  • Energy Transmission: The project will facilitate the transmission of renewable energy from Bhadla III (Rajasthan) and Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh).
  • Technical Specifications:
    • Establishment of two HVDC LCC terminal stations of 6000 MW at Bhadla (Rajasthan) and Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh).
    • Development of a ±800 kV HVDC LCC terminal station (4X1500 MW) for efficient energy transmission.
  • Project Execution Timeline: The contract is scheduled for completion by 2030.
