Bhim Sen Tuti takes over as IGP of Jammu region

Jammu, Feb 3 (PTI) – Bhim Sen Tuti, a 2004-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, officially took charge as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Jammu zone on Monday, officials confirmed.

He succeeds Anand Jain, who has been reassigned as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed Police.

Before his appointment as IGP Jammu, Tuti held several key positions within the police department. His past roles include serving as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sopore, SP in Leh and Kishtwar districts, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of two ranges, and IGP at Police Headquarters. Additionally, he was deputed to Jharkhand and the Union Territory of Ladakh during his tenure.

Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by DIG Shiv Kumar and other senior officers of the Jammu district. Outgoing ADGP Anand Jain provided Tuti with a comprehensive briefing on the region's emerging challenges, including crime, militancy, and law and order issues.

Following the takeover, Tuti held an introductory meeting with officers, emphasizing the importance of addressing the pressing concerns of the Jammu zone and strengthening law enforcement measures.
