
Ranchi, February 13 A man from Bihar was arrested at the Hatia railway station in Jharkhand with 7.5 kg of cannabis, according to an official statement released on Friday.
The seized contraband is valued at approximately ₹3.75 lakh.
The accused, Mohan Prasad (60), a resident of East Champaran district in Bihar, was identified in the statement.
Nine packets of cannabis were seized from the accused's trolley bag on Thursday during the inspection, the statement said.
During interrogation, Prasad stated that he had obtained the cannabis in Sambalpur district of Odisha and was transporting it to Bihar, the statement added.
The accused and the seized contraband were handed over to the Hatia GRP for further legal action, it concluded.
