Katra, Jammu | March 1: BJP National President and Union Health Minister J P Nadda visited the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine located atop the Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on Saturday. Accompanied by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Nadda performed special prayers at the shrine, officials reported.
Nadda’s wife, Mallika Nadda, BJP National General Secretary and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Tarun Chugh, and BJP Jammu and Kashmir president Sat Sharma also accompanied him during the pilgrimage.
Following the shrine visit, Nadda arrived at Katra—the base camp town for pilgrims heading to Vaishno Devi—to deliver an address at the concluding session of a two-day training workshop organized by the BJP. The workshop, known as the ‘Vidhayak Prashikshan Shivir’, was specifically designed to train the party’s 28 legislators, most of whom are first-time lawmakers, ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly's budget session scheduled to begin on March 3.
BJP National General Secretary B L Santosh, alongside Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Sat Sharma, inaugurated the training session at a hotel in Katra on Friday.
The key aim of the workshop was to enhance legislative effectiveness and encourage active participation by BJP legislators during the forthcoming assembly session.
