New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on track for its "worst defeat ever" in the upcoming Delhi elections. In a fiery video message released on the final day of campaigning for the February 5 polls, Kejriwal accused the BJP of resorting to unfair means to counter an impending electoral setback.

The former Delhi Chief Minister alleged that the BJP is deploying "goons" and leveraging the Delhi Police to manipulate voters, particularly those in slum areas. "The BJP will use its muscle power and police force extensively to intimidate voters. They are desperate as they can sense their defeat," he claimed.

Bribery and Intimidation Allegations

Kejriwal further accused BJP workers of attempting to bribe slum dwellers with amounts ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 while marking their fingers with black ink to prevent them from voting on election day. Urging voters to resist these tactics, he advised, "Take their money, but do not allow them to mark your finger."

To counter these alleged malpractices, the AAP supremo revealed that his party has deployed "quick action teams" equipped with spy cameras and body cams in vulnerable areas. "We have positioned cameras to catch BJP workers indulging in any wrongdoing," he added.

Warning Against Slum Demolitions

Kejriwal also issued a stark warning to slum residents, alleging that a BJP victory would lead to mass demolitions. "Selling your vote would be like signing your own death warrant," he cautioned, urging people to vote wisely.

A High-Stakes Electoral Battle

As Delhi heads to the polls, the electoral battle remains intense, with the BJP seeking to unseat the AAP, while the Congress eyes a political resurgence. The outcome, set to be declared on February 8, will decide whether Kejriwal retains power or if Delhi sees a change in leadership.
