Leaders Rally Support, Highlight Anti-China and Pro-Army Initiatives

Amethi, Uttar Pradesh – May 17: In a show of nationalist fervor and solidarity, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and supporters organized a spirited 'Tiranga Yatra' in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district on Saturday. The march commenced from Gauriganj Tiraha and culminated at the Loktantra Senani Smarak.

The yatra, led by BJP district president Sudhanshu Shukla, witnessed participation from several prominent figures, including UP Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Zila Panchayat Chairman Rajesh Agrahari, former MLA Chandra Prakash Mishra Matiyari, and senior party leader Amarendra Singh Pintu. Many BJP workers and office bearers also joined the rally, waving the national flag and chanting slogans to support the nation and its armed forces.

Speaking to the media, Rajesh Agrahari expressed support for former Amethi MP Smriti Irani’s decision to donate her pension to the Indian Army. “This is a commendable initiative that we all should stand behind,” he stated.

Agrahari further urged local traders to cease selling Chinese products and focus on indigenous manufacturing. “We will oppose Turkiye and China economically. I appeal to traders to enhance their productivity and replace Chinese goods with locally made items,” he added.

Context of Operation Sindoor

The 'Tiranga Yatra' comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a precision military strike launched by India on May 7 targeting terrorist infrastructure. This action was in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

Following India's military response, Pakistan attempted to retaliate by targeting Indian military bases. However, these efforts were decisively countered by Indian forces, resulting in significant damage to critical Pakistani military installations, including air bases, radar stations, and command centers.

The event in Amethi reflected the heightened nationalistic spirit across the country in response to recent security challenges and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
