BJP MLA’s Brother Shoots Son Dead Over Money Dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain

Ujjain (MP), Feb 3 (PTI): A tragic family dispute turned fatal in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Monday morning when the brother of BJP MLA Satish Malviya shot and killed his 30-year-old son using a licensed firearm, police confirmed.

The incident occurred around 9:15 AM in Makdon tehsil, where Mangal Malviya, the elder brother of the Ghatiya constituency BJP legislator, engaged in a heated argument with his son Arvind Malviya over money matters related to the family’s grocery store, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rural Nitesh Bhargava.

Amid the altercation, Mangal Malviya opened fire with a 12-bore licensed gun, fatally shooting his son. Arvind succumbed to the gunshot on the spot. Authorities immediately transported the body for post-mortem examination.

Following the incident, police detained Mangal Malviya for questioning. Investigations are underway to determine further details regarding the dispute and the events leading up to the shooting.

This shocking case has sent ripples through the region, as Satish Malviya is a sitting BJP MLA from Ujjain’s Ghatiya seat.

Authorities are continuing their probe, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
