Forensic Teams Deployed as Police Investigate Early Morning Explosion

Chandigarh, April 8 — Panic gripped Jalandhar's Shastri Market area in the early hours of Monday after a loud blast occurred outside the residence of senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia. The incident, which took place around 1 a.m., caused alarm among residents but fortunately resulted in no injuries.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Manpreet Singh confirmed that forensic teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to collect evidence. “The forensic team is investigating the matter,” Singh stated.

Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify those responsible for the blast.

Manoranjan Kalia, a prominent political figure in Punjab, has previously served as a Cabinet minister and held the position of state BJP president.

This incident follows a series of similar explosions reported in Punjab over the past few months. Several blasts have targeted police posts in Amritsar and Gurdaspur, and just last month, an explosion occurred outside a temple in Amritsar.

The investigation into the Jalandhar blast remains ongoing as officials work to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators.
